the elastic sentence: He yelled. I laughed.
He yelled.
He yelled at me.
I screamed, and he yelled at me.
Before I screamed, and before he yelled at me, we laughed.
Before I screamed, and before he yelled at me, we laughed about the trashcan tipping over.
Before I angrily screamed his name, and before he yelled at me, we laughed about the trashcan tipping over onto the floor.
A minute and a half before I angrily screamed his name, and an hour and a half before he yelled at me, we sat together and laughed about the empty trashcan tipping over onto the floor.
Just a minute and a half before I angrily screamed his name, and an hour and a half before he yelled at me with his eyes, we sat together at our table and laughed about the empty trashcan tipping over onto the floor.
It is hard to imagine that just a minute and a half before I angrily screamed his girlfriend’s name, and just an hour and a half before he yelled at me with both his eyes and his hands, we sat together at our first kitchen table, and laughed about the empty trashcan tipping over onto the floor.
It is hard to imagine that a minute before I screamed his name at our kitchen table, we sat together and laughed, tipping over onto the floor.
It is hard to imagine that I screamed at our table, and we laughed.
Imagine that I screamed, and we laughed.
Imagine that I laughed.
I laughed.
